I love Fair Haven. But lately, I've seen too many decisions in our town driven by politics, process, or 'the way we've always done it,' rather than what actually makes sense for the people who live here. Through my years of volunteering and working on local projects, I've seen how much people here are willing to give, but also how needlessly difficult it can be to turn a good idea into action. I realized I could either stay frustrated or step up to make a difference. That is why I am running as an independent. Local government shouldn't be about party politics. I want a Fair Haven that is well-run, transparent, and financially responsible, while keeping the small-town feel we all cherish. I'm not running because I've always wanted to be mayor; I'm running to make our town work better.
I'll take a hard look at how we operate, where we spend, and where shared services, better processes, or smarter purchasing can save money without sacrificing what residents expect. There's no quick fix. It means digging into the details and doing the work.
Fair Haven should use technology to simplify permitting, improve communication, track projects, and eliminate unnecessary administrative work. Residents should be able to get information, submit requests, and understand what's happening without having to chase Borough Hall for answers.
Residents shouldn't have to dig through meeting packets or attend every council meeting to understand what their government is doing. I'll make budgets, major projects, timelines, spending, and decisions easier to see and understand. It's your town, your money, and your government. I work for you.
Efficiency and progress don't mean changing the character of our town. I'll focus on safe, walkable streets, thriving local businesses, thoughtful development, trees and open space, and the small-town community that makes people want to live here in the first place.
